My Story

When most people cross the finish line after a marathon, they feel elated, exhausted, proud, and confident they’ll never do that again! When I crossed the finish line in 2024, I felt all those things, and as I hoovered up a bag of well-deserved chips, Peter said

“that was great, but you need to do London!”. What can I say, .., we are a team that feeds off each other! He planted the seed, and I began plotting to see if we could do exactly that, but do it for another worthy cause, close to our hearts. I’m pleased to say we were invited to join the Royal British Legion team, and I am honoured they would like us to fundraise for them.

Right now the Royal British Legion are helping those who are isolated from family, facing homelessness, struggling to feed their children and are in financial crisis. They are working tirelessly to ensure that those who have served are being looked after no matter what challenges they, and the country faces. Your donation will mean they can continue to provide the life-changing support that our Armed Forces community needs and deserves. Peter and I are running this marathon for all those we know and love who have served in the forces, to inspire others and make a difference. We’d love you to be part of our journey. We have committed to raise £2000 for this great cause, and we need to raise half of that by December! So, with your help, we can smash this target and do something amazing, for ourselves, for the charity, and the communities they serve.

Thank you in advance for your kindness, support, donations and prayers; we need, and treasure them all!

The training and fundraising begins now!

With thanks and best wishes,

Ruth and Peter X
