Finchley Foodbank provides emergency food assistance for people living in the London Borough of Barnet. Our clients can choose food, toiletries and household basics during one of our twice-weekly sessions at St Mary's parish centre. In a given week, we support more than 450 people in 200 households with three days' worth of cupboard staples, fresh vegetables, eggs and bread to support a healthy diet.
We count on so many people, from the wonderful group of dedicated volunteers and our generous supporters to continue this work. But the need is great and growing all the time.
I am running the 2025 London Marathon to help ensure we can continue to provide these basic necessities of life for the many people who come to our door each week over the year to come. I am a Californian by birth but a North Londoner by choice, and I've spent more than 30 years here with my husband, raising our two (grown) sons.
It's my first try at this distance (and I'm no kid), but knowing that I can do something to enable to the Finchley Foodbank to continue to support people in need is a huge motivation!
So on those cold rainy mornings I will be out there pounding the pavements, and maybe you'll see me putting the miles in. I am counting on your support to keep me on the road!
Thank you
Brittany
