My Story
Hello!
On the 27th April I am running London Marathon in aid of Baby lifeline.
Running has always been a way for me to feel less guilty about eating all the biscuits and cake. After having my lovely Luca in 2022, I spent the first 6 months as a bit of new mum mess! Running and fitness really helped my mental health and gave me chance to turn “mum mode” off a couple of times a week!
On April 27th every footstep will feel hard, but every mile I run (or crawl) will raise vital pennies for an amazing charity - Baby lifeline. The care I received from my own medical team having Luca - reproductive medicine, diabetes nurses and all my labour team (especially the anaesthetist!) was luckily second to none. This care is something that every mum and baby should receive.
Baby lifeline supports maternity teams to give every mum and baby the best care possible from pregnancy, birth, and afterwards.
Before signing up, I hadn’t ran more than 10k since having Luca, but London marathon is a bucket list race. After many years of failed ballot entries I had a very casual chat with my lovely neighbour (thanks Sara!) and before I knew it, I was signed up!
The training has started, I’m slow, but I am excited for race day already!
