My Story

Hello my name is Amy and I'm running the 2025 London Marathon in memory of my beautiful mum Doreen.

January 2021 my family were given the devastating news that mum had pancreatic cancer.
This diagnosis came from no where as mum was a healthy, fit and active 69 year old lady.

For the next 2 and half years my brave mum fought as hard as she could and at times there really was glimmers of hope that she would in fact be able to live with this cancer.

At the start of 2024 lots of complications meant mum spent lots of time in the hospital and eventually in April made the decision to go to the local hospice.

My mum was so brave and throughout it all always thought of others before her self.

Mum spent 4 weeks in the hospice and we stayed by her side through out.

Sadly on May 18th at 11:11 pm mum passed away peacefully surrounded by my two sisters, my dad and her precious dog scamp.

Pancreatic cancer needs more research, needs more money for research. It's vital it's caught as soon as possible to keep people with their loved ones longer.

Please help me raise as much money as possible for pancreatic cancer UK so they can carry on vital research.

thank you

Amy
