My Story

I'm running the London Marathon on the 27th April 2025 to raise money for Baby Lifeline. This will be my first marathon, and having entered in a state of delusion after running one 5k, it definitely won't be easy! However, I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to run for such a worthwhile cause which will keep me motivated through every step of my training.

Recognised as one of the UK's leading maternity and newborn baby charities, Baby Lifeline's mission is to make care safer for every mother and newborn baby across the UK and internationally by reducing injuries and death around childbirth. They achieve this through expert-led training for NHS frontline staff, provision of equipment for maternity and specialist care baby units, and by carrying out key research.

Sadly over 13 babies a day are stillborn or die within their first four weeks of life in the UK, and 50% of adults in the UK said that they, or someone they know, had experienced pregnancy or baby loss. Investigations have found that different care could have lead to different outcomes in many of these cases, and Baby Lifeline's efforts work towards a future where every mother and baby receive the best and safest care possible.
