My Story

Murambinda Hospital is a remote, underfunded hospital in Zimbabwe that provides a vital service to the residents of it's enormous catchment area. The Friends of Murambinda Hospital are a charity set up to provide much needed funds to improve the service the hospital can offer. Our good friends Carolyn and Richard worked as doctors in Murambinda for 2yrs and have been involved with FMH since their return, helping to ensure every penny raised is used to improve the service. None of the trustees receive any reimbursement for their time, and Carolyn visits Murambinda every few years at her own expense to ensure the money is going on what was intended. A recent example of the work of FMH is paying for the installation of solar panels to power the hospital which had previously relied on old diesel generators for all its power.
