My Story
Note: an extra £1000 matched giving pledge will be sent directly to the charity - so my real fundraising amount is what you see here + 1000!!
Hi and firstly thank you for visiting my page! I have signed up to take on the 2025 London Marathon and I will be raising funds to support the Royal British Legion. This will be my first marathon and my first major fundraising event, so I can't wait to share my marathon journey with you all!
So, why the RBL?
The armed forces community has been part of my life since joining the RAF Air cadets in 2019, an experience which shaped my teenage years and helped me become who I am today, from working my way up the ranks, to attending events such as the King's Coronation and this year recieving the Dacre Sword. Remembrance has always been an important topic for me, having paraded for remembrance day as a cadet since 2019, and a scout and brownie before then. I have paid visits to the battlefields in Belgium 3 times, and laying a wreath on behalf of the cadet force during the poppy parade in Ypres was a special moment for me. I hope to raise awareness for the RBL through my fundraising, in addition to inspiring other young people like myself to support the cause and learn more about remembrance and the armed forces community.
The Poppy Appeal was founded to help those in need following a national crisis. They are working tirelessly to ensure that those who have served are being looked after no matter what challenges they, and the country faces. Your donation will mean they can continue to provide the life-changing support that our Armed Forces community needs and deserves. Thank You.
