My Story
I am running the London Marathon for the Charlie Kristensen Foundation - #CheerUpCharlie!
You are fat, you are stupid, you are gay, only ponces dance... GO KILL YOUSELF.
These are the words that were told to 8 year old Charlie.
Why? because he loved all things muscial theatre.
It is heart-breaking to hear when Charlie gave a speech at the Princess Diana Awards that he was also hit, punched, winded and thrown to floor and made to cry. One time, he had to lock himself in a toilet at school as 6 boys were trying to get to him with scissors.
Charlie thought he hid it well from others as he still smiled but inside for many days he was crying; he still laughed but inside he was crying; he still danced but inside he was crying; he still sang but it is hard to sing with a smile when you want to cry.
Luckily Charlie's parents recognised that something was not quite right with Charlie as he no longer smiled with his eyes.
When Charlie was 9 years old he took to the stage and told everyone that one day he would be on the West End Stage... and typical Charlie style... he took the West End by storm by producing a massive production 'There's No Place Like Home' to launch The Charlie Kristensen Foundation.
