Chris's Fundraising Page — Running the 2025 London Marathon for Alzheimer's Society

My Story
I’m running the 2025 London Marathon in support of Alzheimer’s Society.
Eight years ago, I completed my first marathon, the 2016 Brighton Marathon, raising over £1,000 to support those affected by dementia and invest in a future where we can hope for effective treatments—or even a cure.
This time around, I’m looking to exceed that fundraising goal and, hopefully, achieve a new marathon personal best along the way.
Dementia touches countless lives, both directly and indirectly. Many of us know someone affected by this devastating disease, and its impact is deeply personal for me.
My grandmother spent over a decade battling Alzheimer’s before passing away in 2021. Witnessing her gradual decline was heartbreaking. Yet even in the hardest moments, knowing she was surrounded by love and receiving the best care possible brought some comfort.
Her experience, however, reminded me of the millions who endure this disease without adequate support or resources, underscoring just how essential it is to continue fighting for better options and care.
Alzheimer’s Society is on the frontlines, supporting families and advancing research to build a world without dementia. By contributing to this cause, you’re not only honouring those we’ve lost but also investing in a future where families can hope for better outcomes.
So, as I prepare for the 26.2 miles / 42 km ahead, I’m asking you to join me on my journey over the next 6 months. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to that future.
Please help me make a difference by donating whatever you can towards creating a world where Alzheimer’s no longer takes the people we love away.
Thank you for your support and wish me luck!
