My Story
In April 2025, I’ll be lacing up my running shoes to tackle the London Marathon—a daunting 26.2 miles that will be my first full marathon. After a few half marathons, I figured it was time to double the challenge! But this time, it’s about more than just crossing the finish line. I’m running to support Shelter, a charity dedicated to ending homelessness and providing crucial services to people in housing crisis.
Shelter does vital work every day, providing advice, legal support, and emergency assistance to families and individuals facing homelessness. They offer guidance that can prevent eviction, support for people navigating complex housing issues, and access to emergency accommodation for those in urgent need. With more than 100,000 people in the UK currently living in temporary housing, Shelter’s work is critical—and your donation could help provide someone with the support they need to stay safe, warm, and secure.
Whether you can spare a few quid or a little more, every bit counts. I know donations can feel like an ask, but if you’re able to contribute, it will make a genuine difference. And if you can’t, no worries! Your support, in whatever form, means a lot to me.
Thanks for reading, and wish me luck as I train and prepare for the emotional rollercoaster of running 26 miles!
I'll be tracking all my training on Strava, feel free to follow me on there if you'd like to see my progress.
