Dave's running a marathon

My Story
Last October, our world turned upside down when my wife, best friend and soulmate was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was devastating news, and I felt helpless as she faced surgery, chemotherapy, and now radiotherapy. She has had a very difficult year and it's been heartbreaking to see her suffer. Despite this, her positivity has been overwhelming.
To cope with my own mental well-being while supporting her, I took up running in January. I started with Couch to 5k and have continued running regularly, reaching a half marathon in late July.
Running has been more than just a physical challenge; it's been a way to find strength and clarity. It's helped me process my emotions and feel like I'm doing something positive, even if it's small.
Laura has shown incredible strength this last year, and her positivity has been inspirational. I've decided to run my first (and possibly only) marathon to honour her courage and resilience.
I hope to raise £2,500 for Breast Cancer Now, a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts. Any donation received is greatly appreciated.
While aiming for a sub-4-hour finish, I know that simply crossing the finish line will be a victory.
