My Story

I'm going to be taking on the world's most famous 26.2 miles on Sunday 27 April for The Brain Tumour Charity.

By running for The Brain Tumour Charity, I'm playing a huge part in The Charity's movement to help people with brain tumours live longer and better lives.

Our 10 year old son Dominic was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour in August 2023. Since then he has had brain surgery, a course of radiotherapy and finally chemotherapy which finished in September last year. He’s been so brave through it all and seeing him ring the bell at the hospital after his final treatment was a special moment for our family 😅

Dominic is getting stronger and stronger every day, and it’s amazing to watch him pick things back up that he has wanted to do for so long but was unable to do so. He’s now riding a bike, swimming and most of all, in the garden booting the ball around (and breaking fences!) with his brothers

We’re so grateful for the care, help and support we have received throughout Dominic’s journey. Our lives will never be the same again and we owe so much to the brilliant NHS and are so grateful to the Brain Tumour Charity for all the work they do in battling this awful disease.

In September my wife Helen completed “Dominic’s Long Walk Home”, a charity walk for the Brain Tumour charity and she did an amazing job, doing us all proud and the generosity we saw from all our friends and family was humbling! Inspired by the work done and alongside the Brain Tumour Charity, I’ve been accepted for a place in the London Marathon in April 2025.

We had so many people donate to the big walk and we’re again asking for a little bit more help so if anyone can donate to this cause, no matter how big or small, it would be very much appreciated. The money raised is so important and will go towards helping other families who find themselves in this heartbreaking situation ❤️
