My Story

The why..

Heart and circulatory diseases kill 1 in 4 people in the UK. Your donations help researchers find treatments and cures to give people more time with loved ones. BHF is the biggest funder of research into heart and circulatory diseases in Europe.

In May 2022, whilst on the way back from running Abbott's annual CORE meeting, I experienced the devastating effect heart disease can have when my wife Sarah's Grandad, Glyn, passed away suddenly at home following an Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest at the age of 74. I'm running for Glyn.

On paper, I work in the Events industry but in theory I work in the Healthcare industry, providing MedEd events to 1000's of Healthcare Professionals, predominantly cardiologists, as well as Pharmaceutical and Device companies each year. I get to see on a daily basis the incredible impact these people have but also am wise to the constant battles they face. 

I know times are tough and I'm not in the business of guilt tripping anybody to donating - donate what you can and be proud that whatever you donate will make a difference. For me, I felt like I'd been the one donating for too long and needed to be the one raising the money this time.
