The short answer is that I'm running the London Marathon as it's on my 50 before 50 list. This means it's one of the fifty things I have to do before I'm fifty next year.
The long answer is that last year was the 75th anniversary of The Declaration of Human Rights, something that applies to all people around the globe. You can't pick and choose who is entitled to human rights. You either believe in them or you don't.
Defending Human Rights is the principle that Amnesty is built upon and that defence seems more needed now than ever.
Having seen the horrors of the genocide taking place in Gaza and The West Bank, I wanted to do something other than just attending protests.
Seeing the images of kids being subjected to this living nightmare is too much to bear. You can't help relating these horrors to your own kids and asking yourself what would you do if that was your friends and family. Did you know that more Palestinian children have died in this genocide than the entire primary school population of the London Borough of Sutton where I live.
I've been reduced to tears most days and I wanted to harness that anger, heartache, and frustration into doing something positive.
Running for Amnesty, who do amazing work in Gaza and across the globe, feels as though I can actually make a tangible difference to those impacted by these horrors.
With that in mind, I would be incredibly grateful if you could sponser me. I would love to raise £3,333 as we all know that 3 is the magic number. As motivation I will be putting regular updates on how my training is going, alongside my hound Bowie, who will be accompanying me right up until the big day.
Thank you so much for any support you're able to give. It would be very much appreciated.
Big Love

About us
The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.
Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.
What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
