Emily's fundraising page for the London Marathon 2025 for the WildLife Foundation

My Story
I have mooted the idea of running another marathon for a couple of years now, so I am delighted to announce it will definitely be happening in 2025!
During the 2024 Yorkshire Wildlife Park Twilight Ball Auction, there it was, staring me in the face, the lot I HAD to win, a guaranteed entry to the 2025 London Marathon.
Thankfully I won the bidding and I am now absolutely delighted to be running in aid of the Wildlife Foundation, with a pledge to raise at least £3,000.00 towards their vital work.
I know I can complete the challenge because every step I take during the run will be motivated by my passion for animals and their welfare.
Those of you who know me best know all about my love of animals and being a Yorkshire lass, of course I own a greyhound and a whippet.
I attend the Twilight Ball every year and have been in awe of the many stories of rescue, research and development work that the Wildlife Foundation undertakes. The recent rescue of Aysa the Lioness and her newborn cubs from war torn Ukraine resulting in them now living a great life at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park is a real feel good story, and a joy I have witnessed.
I urge you all to visit wildlife-foundation.org.uk and be inspired by the amazing and varied work they accomplish.
So, where am I at with my training? I completed the London Marathon in 2006, 19 long years ago. Training when you are 30 is a lot different to training when you are 50 years old! Whilst I have done several half marathons in between, getting those miles in your legs during the UK winter has been tough. However, the terrific support from my family and friends has kept me on track to achieve 20/21 miles by the middle of April, leaving a bit of rest time before the big day on the 27th April.
Please help me support the Wildlife Foundation by sponsoring me to run this event.
Myself, the Foundation and of course the animals would thank you millions!
