My Story
Well, after sooooo many attempts at the Ballot I thought I'd try via a charity. I applied to a few but still had some refusals. I'd decided to give up on the idea and within hours of making that decision, the planets did their thing and I recieved an email offering me a place with The Institute of Cancer Research.
So, the fundraising starts now.
As many of you know, I lost both my parents to cancer. Dad died in 1986, I was just a teenager... a life time ago really. Mum died in 2018. Experiencing the loss of a parent as a child and an adult are 2 vastly different things. Differences that are hard to describe if I'm honest.
I'd like to make a difference, Cancer affects so many lives, so many people with its ripple effect and if running 26.2miles can help fund the research, it will be worth every step!
Over the coming weeks and months, I'll be begging and pleading for sponsorship, but also I'll be setting up raffles and lucky dips and for everyone who likes a sweet treat, a special snack sale of my famous calorific snacks for people to buy.
So, I'd love to get the ball rolling now, if you'd like to sponsor me and be part of my longest ever dream - my first London entry was 1994, I'll be over the moon!
3...2....1.... GO!!
