My Story

My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer several years ago and then my nan on my wife’s side was diagnosed in 2022. It was a tremendously difficult time for them and their diagnosis was upsetting for the whole family. They both approached the diagnosis and treatment with courage and determination and were truly inspirational through it all. Both are doing well but continue to live with their experiences and the after affects of their treatment.

Sadly, their experiences are not unique as every 10 minutes someone is diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately, Breast Cancer Now is making a real difference to those affected by the disease by undertaking world-class research and providing such important and meaningful support to anyone affected by breast cancer.

I am so very proud of my mum and nan for their bravery and spirit in response to this disease. I am not a runner by any means. This is my first London Marathon and, whilst I'm a little terrified, I feel so very privileged to have the opportunity to run it for them and as part of the amazing Breast Cancer Now Team.

As a bit of fun, if you want to guess my finishing time please do so in the comments with any donation. Let's see who can get the closest!

Please know, I am so grateful for every donation made in support of this challenge. It is such an amazing cause which is close to my family's heart and all donations will help make a real difference in supporting those affected by Breast Cancer.

Thank you!
