My Story

In April 2024, George became very ill at home. After going to A&E twice and getting sent home each time, he then collapsed while getting bloods taken in hospital. After a few very scary hours and lots of tests and scans, we found out he may have meningitis this was then confirmed a week later and that he also had encephalitis. 

Luckily, once we got the diagnosis, he was on the correct medication to treat the rare form he had. Thankfully, he has made nearly a full recovery. 

After getting discharged from the hospital, we had very little help, so we got in touch with Headway. They have been fantastic and helped us to understand some of the side effects and the best way to deal with these.

Headway provide much needed support and care for people and families with brain injuries, luckily we only used them for a short period but they such a support for those who need it. So I'd like to raise as much as possible to help.
