Grant Burton running London marathon for the RNIB
Grant Burton
My Story
This year I am running the London Marathon to raise vital funds for RNIB —and to show that sight loss doesn’t have to hold you back.
RNIB is an incredible charity thats been a huge help to people like me living with eye conditions causing partial sight loss and full sight loss. My condition is a rare one called retinoschisis. So taking on 26.2 miles on my own is one heck of a challenge!
However….
I will not be alone. I have been fortunate enough to get a spot for a guide, and who better than my childhood best friend Mark Isaac. Having known each other since we were kids, we are now taking on one of the biggest challenges of our lives - together.
Marks willing to step up and guide me round the London Marathon (mainly to make sure I stay away from the pubs around mile 18) and get me over the finish line.
The work this charity do is honestly life changing and this is something that I can do to give something back (whilst dragging Mark round 26.2 miles of pain in the process)
So please, if you can, support us. Every donation makes a real difference as they strive to get closer to a point where sight loss doesn’t limit opportunity.
