Team Tal at the TCS London Marathon 2025

My Story
On 27th April 2025 I will be taking part in the London Marathon alongside my other #Teamtal teammates made up of Katherine Lambert, Kate Norton-Hewins and Rupert Frere. We are running to raise as much money as we possibly can for Pancreatic Caner UK in the memory of my beloved husband, Tal. In September 2024, Kate, Kaija and I are also taking part in a continuous 100km walk from London to Henley so the training has well and truly started. On this walk we will be trying to raise awareness for the symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer, as they are unfortunately minimal and when they do finally appear, it is often too late, which was tragically the case for Tal.
Tal was one of life's rare gifts. His caring and positive nature to help others was inspirational and his zest for life was infectious. Tal had a short battle with cancer and was diagnosed in October 2023. He sadly passed away with his family by his side in December 2023. We are passionate about continuing Tal's legacy by campaigning for early diagnosis and raising awareness of the symptoms for Pancreatic Cancer. This is something Tal was so determined to implement from the day he was diagnosed. He knew it was too late for him, but his selfless and caring mindset immediately switched to trying to help others and their families.
Cancer is not selective - it takes the good and the bad and in the case of Tal, it took the very best. Tal and I spoke a lot about how he'd like my future to be without him - not sad over his loss but to live my life with him well and truly embedded in my heart. We spoke about George's future and his hopes and dreams for our son. He then asked one final thing of me - to do everything I can to raise awareness and funds for this silent killer so children like our little baby George can grow up with both a mother and a father. Life was cruel for us and Tal was taken far too soon, but I am left with the most precious gift in baby George - my mini Tal who already has his infectious smile and cheeky laugh.
I am not a runner, but I am the determined wife of the greatest man I'll ever have the pleasure of knowing and loving and I intend to carry out Tal's wishes. I hope I am doing you proud Tal.
