My Story

About us

Hiya,

Can't believe I will be running the London Marathon this year. I've spent years hearing how my Dad did it back in the 80s with a week's notice, and thought that will never be me.

But alas, next year I will be taking on my first ever marathon, and what a marathon to start on. I'm even more delighted to say I will be running for the amazing Runnymede Trust alongside my good friends Serena and Seun.

For over 50 years, the Runnymede Trust has been highlighting racism that occurs in our society. We see from recent events, such as the riots over summer or the unfair preventable deaths of people of colour due to housing or healthcare that racism is still deeply engrained in everyday lives.

The Runnymede Trust has always pushed hard for better race relations in a country that often feels divided. The Trust's work includes helping to create the Race Relations Act 1974, which made it illegal to discriminate on the grounds of race for the first time.

I am honoured to be representing such an organisation, and by raising money, it will gain more power and autonomy over conducting research and policy outputs.

Any support is support, whether it is sending some pennies or sharing this among your networks. I would also love to see you on the big day (27 Apr 2025 for your calendars) or after in the pub for a well deserved beverage.

Thanks!
