I did it!

My Story

I did it! I actually completed London marathon with only 9 weeks training!

Yes, I'm a little crazy for agreeing to it with such short training, but I think that makes me even more worthy of some sponsorship for jumping at this opportunity?

It was an absolutely amazing day, and I'll be forever thankful to Joint Action for giving me the opportunity. It's great knowing I've helped raise funds for this fabulous charity that runs close to my personal and professional roots.

My mum has suffered with arthritis for many years and had many surgeries over the years from bilateral knee joint replacements (at the same time!) to shoulder impingement surgeries and trapeziectomies. Taking part in the London marathon is as much for her as it is for me, giving back to help support those who support others.

As a Chiropractor I've supported many patients with long term joint conditions, and as a consultant for The 1:1 Diet I've supported many slimmers to lose weight to be eligable for surgery, the most recent receiving her replacement on 13th March.

Through both of my careers I help people gain control of their conditions and live their lives as fully as possible.

Joint Action, the orthopaedic research appeal of the BOA, helps patients by raising funds for and promoting research into musculoskeletal disorders and to improve orthopaedic treatment, restoring mobility and giving people back their freedom and independence.

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
