My Story
I'm running the iconic london Marathon on 27th of April! - which is petrifying by the way.
The heart is an amazing organ, it's known as the organ that keeps you alive. It can also be viewed as the centre of emotions, the source of wisdom and intuition, some people say you must listen to it and follow it, and of course it's the universal symbol for love and strength.
These interpritations have all become very real over the last few years when my heart decided to test me and I got diagnosed with incessant atrial tachycardia. This evolved into other complications of the heart which led to having to undergo two surgical procedures called and ablation. This leads me to the main motivation of running this marathon.
His name was William Baxter.
A very close family friend who played a big part in my life who sadly lost his life to a sudden cardiac arrest. Bill introduced me to the consultant who was finally able to diagnose me, and Bill continued to provide me with support until he unexpectedly passed away.
For any one who had the pleasure to meet Bill you would know how much of an amazing and unique man he was. He was a big fan of giving back and did a lot of this by raising money for charity - and was pretty good at it.
So now l'd like to do my bit and raise as much money as I can for the BHF to help with funding research into heart and circulatory diseases, campaigns for a healthier world, and provide support and information to those affected by these conditions.
So it turns out running is hard. Gives you sore legs, makes you complain a lot and also turns you into a smug person who brags to their friends about all the hard training you do. So I'm hoping all of this hard work and scheduled training (which I am honestly doing) will pay off and help me to raise a decent amount of money to a great charity to which I and many others have a connection with.
I look forward to all your donations 😉hopefully see you on the finish line!!
