My Story

In October 2023 while driving on the annual Bangers for BEN charity rally unbeknownst to myself one of my 'team mates' secretly signed me up to run the London Marathon in 2025.

Imagine my suprise and horror when I received an email at the end of June confirming my place on the BEN - Support for Life, London Marathon 2025 team.

I was going to politely decline considering I couldn't run for more than 30 seconds without stopping and was grossly unfit and overweight but my wife convinced me that I could do it. She quite correctly stated it would be good for me physically and mentally and that most importantly it would give me a chance to raise funds for the motor trade charity BEN - Support for Life which is very important to me.

BEN offer much needed help and support to those in need in our industry and particularly focus on mental health, suicide prevention and lots of other important areas.

Since confirming my place at the end of June I have been regularly running and now own a pair of proper running trainers and can run for a significant length of time. Not at marathon level yet but with your support and generosity I'll be there in no time.

Please give generously and I will not let you down. I will run this entire marathon without fail and your support can genuinely make a massive difference to people in need of help.
