My Story
It's my first ever Marathon (at 56) and I'm supporting Treloar School and College.
Treloar's is close to my family. They provide outstanding education, care, therapy, and independence training to physically disabled children and young persons in the UK. Often using technology in inpiring ways to aid students with their mobility and communication. Natalie’s story is a great testimony to the life-changing work at Treloar's.
What propelled me to this? In March 2024, my Mum died. I was at a loss and wondering ways to honour Mum’s nursing legacy and devotion to caring for others. A book title caught my interest and roused by a sense of purpose and challenge, I boldly proclaimed “I’m going to run a Marathon, and for a damn good cause!”
My mantra is to be grateful I can run and doing so I can help others. I am training in whatever the weather and encouraging my legs, and head, “we got this!”
I believe every child and young person deserve to live a fulfilling life regardless of their disability. So please help me make every step of my training and Race Day miles provide the path of equal opportunity to follow their dreams and aspirations.
Every year the London Marathon raises millions of pounds to help much needed Charities like Treloar's to provide life changing services and support. I'm very proud to be part of such an amazing community and every mile of the Marathon I will be focused on why I am doing this.
Your support and generosity is hugely appreciated and it means a lot. Thank You! x
