My Story

Hi there,

My name is Jon, the very proud Dad of Ben and Sam. In May 2023, our lives were turned upside down when Ben was diagnosed with a high grade brain tumour. We were swiftly moved to Bristol Childrens Hospital, where emergency operations were carried out to remove most of the tumour. The crushing news then came in that Ben had been diagnosed with brain cancer.

Young Lives provided us with incredible support, from the big stuff of sorting out somewhere to live whilst away from home, to helping out with forms and navigating a whole new world.

It is an honour to be able to raise money for this incredible cause and I look forward to the training ahead! Ben is an incredibly determined young man who lives his life to the full. Every set back is met with an attitude of overcoming it and I will channel this through the training in the weeks to come.

Join me in supporting a good cause.  By sponsoring me, your contribution will make a huge difference to the lives of children and young people with cancer.  Whether you donate £5 or £500 you will be making a big impact.  Thank you for your support.

Every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer.  Young Lives vs Cancer helps families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them. We'll face it all together - but we can't do it without you.
