My Story

In 2025 I'm going to do something amazing & run the London Marathon

I will be running in the memory of my mum Jayne and Brother Trevor Tume.

In 2019 Trevor was diagnosed with Bowel cancer, a disease that has effected so many people and one that has taken my mum and brother too young, too soon.

Trevor was just 35yrs old, father of 3 young childen 1 baby girl on the way.

September 2019 I received the gut wrenching call from Trevor, that the doctors had found a large tumor in his bowel and that he had cancer. The call that stays with me to this day.

October 2019 we got the bad news that Trevor had taken a turn for the worse and had suffered a major stroke and needed major brain surgery. He lost his speech and all the movement down his left side.

After spending a few weeks in hospital the doctors hit us with the news that Trevors cancer had spread and was nothing more they could do.

At the end of November Trevor was transferred to the Greenwich & Bexley Hospice and spent the last week of his life receiving the most amazing care and one that me and my family will be forever truely grateful for.

On the 3rd December 2019 Trevors new born baby girl arrived and he was finally able to meet her and hold her for the first time, he smiled and kissed her head, you could tell this was something he had been waiting a long time to do. This was a memory i will cherish forever.

Sadly on the morning of the 6th December 2019 we got the devastating news that Trevor had passed away at the very young age of 35yrs, leaving behind his young family, brothers, dad and everyone who was lucky enough to meet him.

Trevor lost his short battle to the disease that sadly took my mum at the age of 40 back in 2004.

Firstly I'd like to thank you for taking the time and reading my story and would really appreciate a small donation and help me towards my goal. Every penny will help such a great charity who i watched first hand give out the most amazing care to patients and their families.

I will work so hard and keep you updated with my journey.

Thank you!

About us

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
