My Story

On Sunday 27th April I have the enormous privilege of running the London Marathon on behalf of my sister Hannah, who has unfortunately had to pull out due to a knee injury.

This year the London Marathon is being held on behalf of Pancreatic Cancer UK. Tragically my brother-in-law Tal and Hannah's husband  was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer on October 2023 and passed away with Hannah by his side at there home in December 2023

The symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer are unfortunately minimal and when they do appear, it is often too late, which was sadly the case for Tal.

Tal was a remarkable man who tirelessly devoted his life to service. Within the RAF he rose to the rank of Wing Commander and was awarded an MBE for charity work.

Throughout his illness I was struck by his enormous courage, decency and positivity. At the time of Tal's passing Hannah was pregnant with their son, George. Tragically Tal passed away before being able to meet and hold George but they spoke about George's future and Tal's hopes and dreams for their son.

Hannah is passionate about continuing Tal's legacy by campaigning for early diagnosis and raising awareness of the symptoms for Pancreatic cancer. This was something Talwas determined to implement from the day he was diagnosed. He knew it was too late for him, but his selfless and caring nature immediately switched to trying to help others and their families.

Cancer is enormously cruel and is not selective but, as Hannah rightly says, in Tal it took the very best. Hannah has shown immeasurable courage and has devoted herself entirely to raising their beautiful son George. She hopes to raise awareness and funds for this silent killer so children like George can grow up with both a Mother and Father.

Thank you for you support.
