Liam Heale - Otakar Kraus Music Trust - London Marathon 2025

My Story

On April the 27th I will be running in the London marathon.  For anyone who does or doesn't know me it will be a big achievement for me.

I will be running and raising money for the Otakar Kraus Music trust who are a great charity providing music therapy within the Borough of Richmond.

My Step-brother Zac who suffers from Coffin-Lowry syndrome thoroughly enjoys attending Music club at Skylarks most Tuesdays. In addition to enjoying the sessions, put on at the Activity Station.

Further information on the Charity

The Otakar Kraus Music Trust (OKMT) has been offering transformative music therapy in the Borough of Richmond for over 30 years. Their services help children with additional needs to communicate and engage with others, and supports adults with learning disabilities or neurological conditions, and elderly people with dementia, to have increased confidence, communication and mental well-being. One of their long-running projects is OK Music Club which provides group music therapy and drumming sessions for children with additional needs and their siblings. Using keyboard, percussion and sensory lights, the children are encouraged to interact, engage and focus. A parent told us, "The sessions have made my child vey happy and confident."   Find out more here https://www.okmtrust.org.uk/what-we-do/music-club/
