If Anyone Cann, Mary and Lisa Cann...

My Story

On the 28th May 2024 the light of our life and the centre of our universe, kissed our girls Minnie and Phoebe goodnight, told them he loved them and rushed out the house to go and play paddle.

This was seemingly, a typical Tuesday evening, in a world that was perfectly and blissfully normal. Nige never returned home. There were no signs, no warning.

After a short period of discomfort, at 47 years of age, his heart just stopped.

Nige was one of life’s greats - my husband, my soul mate, my best friend. An amazing son, a caring brother, the most hilarious friend, and the GREATEST Daddy.

His sparkle was blinding, with an unforgettable sense of humour that reduced you to your knees. He radiated love and this was felt by everyone who ever met him.

In his honour, myself and Lisa, my best friend of 30 years, will complete the London marathon on the 27th April 2025. All proceeds raised will go to the British Heart Foundation - if we are able to prevent just one person and their family, from facing the same devastation, it will be worth it!

Our aging knees may never forgive us for running 26.2 miles, but we are determined to run the distance side by side, even if we have to crawl!
