Louise Butcher The Topless Runner! London 2025

My Story

I started running to Self-medicate, I struggled for years with Health anxiety so it was the only way I could trick my mind into knowing I was physically OK.

Ironically during training for my 1st Marathon I was diagnosed with Lobular breast cancer, a massive shock considering my mammogram showed nothing only three weeks earlier.

I carried on training through both mastectomys and ran my 1st marathon 6 weeks post Mastectomy and during the week of radiotherapy because I didn't know how else to cope with such trauma and I knew running had been there for me during past struggles and hadn't let me down.

Since then I have ran five marathons, four of which, have been topless, bearing my scars for all to see, to promote body Positivity, reduce the Stigma of mastectomy and flat closure surgery and to show the world if you choose not to have reconstruction you can still be an amazing, strong, feminine Woman.

I ran the London Marathon in April 2024 for breast Cancer Now and raised over £3500 and I also became the 1st woman in the world to run it topless, achieving A Guinness World Record.

I have been running topless for nearly two years now and the Positivity and Empowerment it has generated has been unbelievable. The work I do is so important in enabling people to see real people who have lived through Breast Cancer, thriving under circumstances that were once seen as traumatic, hopeless and negative.

This year I will be running again for breast Cancer Now and I hope to raise more money for this Fabulous charity that works tirelessly for survivors and their families.

Please Support me and know that every penny helps people like me live their best, most positive lives.
