My Story
I’m very excited to be given the opportunity by The Laura Centre to run the London Marathon 2025.
Most of you are aware I lost my son in March 2020. To lose a child is the most devastating thing that can happen to a parent, the continuous pain and loss you feel is unbearable. I can’t begin to explain the pain and feelings we experience every day. For me, my running helps me to get through each day. I lace up my trainers and run. If I’m honest, I’m trying to run away from myself but unfortunately, I can’t do that.
The Laura Centre is a dedicated grief charity situated in Leicester, focused on helping families rebuild their lives following a devastating loss. Their bereavement support considers the uniqueness of every individual, from a parent losing a child or a sibling losing their brother or sister.
I haven’t used their services myself yet; I may choose to do so in the future if I can find the strength to. However, I do know people who have used them, and I know it’s been a lifeline.
I would like to raise as much money as possible to help support this charity, they are providing a service that no-one ever wants to use, but unfortunately there are people who need their support & counselling.
I know times are hard and we’re all struggling with the high cost of living, but if you can, please donate to my page and help support bereaved families. Every penny counts and your donation is greatly appreciated.
Look out for my updates on social media too, as I will be doing a Christmas hamper raffle, a charity cards night and more events…….
Thank you in advance for your support & kindness.
