My Story

In April 2025, I will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for Cherry Lodge Cancer Care, an incredible independent charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer, as well as their families and carers. Cherry Lodge provides a wide range of free cancer information and support services to help individuals at every stage of their cancer journey.

Approximately 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives, including two of my grandparents. I only knew one grandma, as my mum’s mother passed away from breast cancer in 1985. She was just 60 years old and it was a time when a cancer diagnosis often came with limited treatment options and little support for patients and their loved ones.

Thanks to medical advances there are now many more cancer survivors. However, the need for emotional, practical, and medical support remains as urgent as ever. This is why the work of charities like Cherry Lodge is so crucial. They rely on financial support to continue providing their vital services to those who need it most.
