My Story

I'm conquering the 2025 London Marathon for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

In 2010 I sadly lost my wonderful Dad to lung cancer. He was my hero, my idol and I looked up to him so much. I always dreaded the day when he wouldn’t be around and at age 28 he was gone! I felt lost, broken and unable to cope without him. Along with a long time off work, taking anti depressants, grief counselling and support from friends and family, I signed up and started to train for a 10k run for cancer research. Running really helped me through this difficult time in my life, it gave me a purpose and helped with the grief and my mental health. Year after year I applied for the London Marathon and 14 years after him passing I got my 14th ballot rejection email. So I decided to apply for a charity place through the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and finally I have a place in the London Marathon 2025! I will be running this in memory of my Dad, 15 years after he passed away! My Dad taught me everything he knew and always encouraged me to never give up, so this is for you Dad! Hope you will be watching over me and giving me the strength and courage to get through this. Miss you forever 💙
