My Story

Hi everyone!

Earlier this year, I put my name in the hat to run the London Marathon on behalf of the charity that I volunteer with (Move the Masses). I didn't get my hopes up because, well, it's the London Marathon. But just a few weeks later, I got the news - I'd been selected!

So... in April (2 days after my 27th birthday!), I'll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life - runnng the London Marathon! My journey (and confidence) to get here hasn't been easy. When I was 20 years old I had a lot of issues with my back, to the point where I was unable to walk for a short while. Eventually I was able to walk but for the next 2 - 3 years I would have flare ups where I was unable to walk without a lot of pain.

During Covid I did the couch to 5km and I started walking and running a bit more often. Keeping active, I've not had any major flare ups and have been able to keep the back problems away (ish). This is why I want to raise money for Move the Masses... keeping active and healthy is so important and helps improve people's mental, as well as physical, health.

About Move the Masses

Move the Masses's mission is to make movement accessible for everyone, and they're all about encouraging small, manageable steps towards a healthier, happier life.

They provide practical support to help people improve their physical and mental wellbeing, particularly those who find it hard to get started. Every little movement matters, and this is reflected in the work they do - helping more people experience the life-changing benefits of staying active.

Your donation will help Move the Masses expand their vital programmes and reach even more people. It will also motivate me to push through those long training runs as I prepare to tackle the marathon.

Thank you so much for your suppot and being a part of this journey, let's Move the Masses together!
