My Story

Two of my biggest passions in life are running and my volunteer work as Youth Chairman for Billericay Rugby Club.

I'm thrilled to be supporting Billericay Rugby Club's key charity partner, Wooden Spoon, the Childrens Charity of Rugby, by running the 2025 London Marathon as part of their amazing fundraising team.

The money I raise will help support the incredible work they do funding life-changing projects across the UK and Ireland to support children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage.

Your generous donation and support will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way in making a positive impact on the lives of those who rely on the services and support provided by Wooden Spoon.

Thank you so much,

Paul.

A word from Wooden Spoon

Research shows that 1 in 10 children in the UK and Ireland have a disability and there are 3.5 million children in the UK living in poverty. These numbers continue to rise and more and more children need our help. Our vision is that through the power of rugby, every child and young person has access to the same opportunities. We have a national footprint, but the largest part of our income is raised by volunteers like Paul, please give him all the support you can through his London Marathon 2025 challenge.

About us

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
