My Story

New year, new challenge! First of all, I want to thank everyone for the incredible generosity of those who sponsored me in 2024. The money raised has already made a difference, with an early detection test now in clinical trials.

While this is fantastic news, more still needs to be done. This year, I aim to go even bigger for this incredible charity. So, in 2025, I will be undertaking the three big London races, starting with the London Winter Run in February, followed by the London Landmarks Half Marathon, and finally culminating in the big one... the London Marathon 2025!

For those who don't know, my connection with this charity is personal. We lost my father-in-law very suddenly in 2022 at the age of 68. From diagnosis to his passing was about four weeks, and it left a huge hole in our family, especially for his wife, Emma, and his two grandchildren, whom he adored.

While this was an awful shock, it is sadly not uncommon. This cancer has the lowest survival rate of any cancer, yet one of the lowest levels of funding. This year, PCUK has been named the TCS Charity of the Year for the London Marathon. This is a huge opportunity for the charity, and with four times the number of runners, we hope they’ll raise a substantial amount to fight this devastating disease.

That’s where you come in... I know we're all feeling the pinch these days, but if you can spare any amount, it would benefit this charity SO much.

This cancer is particularly deadly because it shows no signs until it’s too late (in most cases), so our best weapon is early detection. The strides PCUK has made with the limited funding they’ve received are nothing short of astounding!
