My Story

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
In November 2021, I contracted COVID-19, which resulted in the sudden loss of my smell and aromatic taste senses which I was hoping would return quickly.  However, 3+ years on and my smell function is weak and ability to experience flavour remains at zero.

This has had a profound impact on my life, but I have never lost heart.  Instead, I have sort ways to stay physically and mentally strong, finding solace in exercise, nutrition and cold-water therapy, which has become a vital part of my routine.

It was a privilege to have been selected to represent and run the TCS London Marathon 2025 on Sunday 27th April for Fifth Sense, as their sole participant and raise much-needed funds and awareness for the charity that I follow closely, and which provides me with hope.  This was a personal mission to advocate for a cause that directly affects my wellbeing, making this marathon adventure extra special!  I am so proud to have completed the marathon in 3:11:25 a PB and got a chance to meet Duncan the founder of Fifth Sense (pictured above).  London was intense, buzzing, hot and full of energy.

Thank you for your support.  Rick xx
