My Story

I will be running for Anaphylaxis UK in memory of my younger sister Órla, who tragically passed away this year at the young age of 25 due to a severe allergic reaction and anaphylactic shock caused by mislabelled food.

Órla was a vibrant and loving person, full of life and with so many dreams ahead of her. Her unexpected passing left a void that can never be filled, but it also inspired me to take action to help prevent other families from experiencing similar heartache.

Running in the London Marathon for Anaphylaxis UK is my way of honouring Órla’s memory and contributing to a cause that aims to improve the lives of those at risk of severe allergic reactions.

Through this marathon, I hope to raise much-needed funds to support Anaphylaxis UK’s crucial work, including their efforts to advocate for better labelling laws, provide resources and education to those affected by allergies.

By participating in this event, I aim to not only keep Órla’s spirit alive but also to make a difference in the lives of others who live with the threat of anaphylaxis every day.

Thank you for supporting my London Marathon fundraising journey and the vital work of Anaphylaxis UK.

A special thank you to Elmhurst Ballet School for their incredible performance dedicated to Órla. Their performance dedicated to Órla was a truly inspiring tribute, and the funds raised from this event have made a significant contribution to the overall fundraising efforts.

Additionally, I would like to express my gratitude to XRays for their bike ride in memory of Órla. Their hard work has helped bring us closer to our overall goal.
