My Story

On Sunday 27th of April 2025 I am running the world-famous London Marathon for Fight for Sight and Vision Foundation! The 26.2 miles will take me through the city alongside 40,000 fellow athletes and will be the biggest physical and personal challenge I have taken on.

The ultimate driving force behind my goal to run the London marathon is my good friend Laura Jones who is losing her sight to Stargardt macular degeneration.

I have been friends with Laura for many years now and our friendship has grown immeasurably in the last three with our children starting school together in 2021.  Over this time, I've grown the upmost respect for Laura in how she is navigating her life with the growing loss of her sight; both as a parent of a young child and someone with such immense musical talent whose career has been impacted so significantly by her condition.

Laura is hugely resilient, facing into many personal challenges beyond the loss of her sight alongside the everyday challenges life throws at her. She demonstrates such humour throughout yet is not afraid to show her vulnerability and ask for help.

Having the opportunity to run the London Marathon on behalf of Fight for Sight / Vision Foundation, and continue the legacy of Laura's friends who have completed it in recent years means a huge amount to be personally and I can't wait!

Staggeringly, only 1.5% of UK medical research is invested into finding new ways to prevent, diagnose or treat sight loss. This equates to just £9.60 for each person whose life has been turned on its head by sight loss.  Please help me in raising as much money as possible toward such an important cause :0)
