My Story

My Story (Philip Heald)

'My name is Philip Heald and in May 2015 I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. In 2021 it turned aggressive and I have since learnt the true meaning of someone 'fighting for cancer'. I have endured chemotherapy, radiotherapy and 12 months ago had a CAR-T cell transplant which I am still trying to recover from. My son Sam recently announced he was running the London marathon next year and I'm touched and proud to say he will be running on behalf of Lymphoma-Action.org.uk. We will be extremely grateful to anyone who can donate to this worthy cause, any amount will be appreciated greatly. Thank you so much for taking time out to read this and join me in wishing Sam a successful and rewarding first marathon run. Good luck son!'

The London Marathon has always been on my bucket list of things I've always wanted to achieve/accomplish. After years of applying, I'm delighted to finally have the opportunity to complete this whilst also raising funds for such an amazing charity close to mine and my family's hearts. Nothing will come close to the pain and suffering my Dad's had to endure over the years but wanted to take on a challenge that replicated a small portion of some of the traits associated with cancer (physical demands, mental strength and extreme tiredness). Thank you for any donations in advance no matter how big or small and a huge thanks to everyone that has read my Dad's story.
