My Story

MY STORY

Believe it or not, this is my 4th Marathon! and my 3rd in London.
It has actually been 5 years since I have run a marathon and I think this will be my toughest one yet, but I am really excited to be back training and taking on this amazing challenge again!

This time round I have chosen to run for and raise money for Nightingale Hammerson. I came across Nightingale Hammerson when my wife's (Zoe) Grandpa was moved to Hammerson House in July 2024. Later that year Zoe's Grandma was also moved into Hammerson House and recently on the 14th March sadly passed away in the care home.

Nightingale Hammerson is an independent charity that relies on the generosity of the community to enable them to continue to deliver exceptional care to older Jewish people.

Zoe's Grandpa is amazing! At 94 years old. Her Grandma was also the most incredible woman. I am in awe of both of them. Zoe's grandpa lives with Dementia and he is still a bundle of joy and we absolutely love visiting him at Hammerson House. This also means we see first hand the amazing work that goes into running the incredible care homes.

Nightingale Hammerson ensures their care teams have an excellent understanding of the pathologies involved in dementia care. They learn the skills needed to observe Residents, how they interact with their surroundings and to understand the impact the environment has on a Resident living with dementia.

THE LONDON MARATHON

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

I have completed the London Marathon in 2015 & 2018 and I can't wait to complete the hattrick in 2025!

Thank you so much in advance for your generosity it means so much
