My Story

Yes you read that right….I’m running the 2025 London marathon   to raise money for the LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall.  No this isn’t my first running challenge but it’s by far my biggest and the one I need all the support I can get for!!  Thankfully I’m not doing it alone, I’ll be being guided by my amazing friend Imy who’s new to guide running!! 

This isn’t just about raising money for a charity that’s close to both our hearts but it’s also about raising awareness of the issues faced by LgBTQ+ people.  As an older blind trans woman who also has other health conditions that have in the past prevented me from living as full a life as I’ve wanted to I believe it’s important to challenge yourself and the attitudes of others towards what you can achieve in life.  As a younger lesbian Imy is not just an amazing friend but is also a staunch trans ally and we believe that through taking on this challenge together we can show that there is more that unites us within the LgBTQ+ community and that we need to stand together to fight the prejudice and inequality that still exists for LgBTQ+ people today.  WE know this won’t be easy but with your help, however big or small that might be, we know we can do this.  Thank you.
