My Story
Hi, I'm Sasha, Director of Science and Policy at Earthwatch Europe; an environmental charity with science at its heart.
At Earthwatch, we're all about connecting people with nature and providing them with the tools they need to fight for the planet.
We're champions of citizen science - non scientists getting actively involved in scientific research - and proud to run the Great U.K. WaterBlitz; a bi-annual campagin in which thousands of volunteers collect valuable data about the health of our nation's freshwater ecosystems.
Our next WaterBlitz just so happens to coincide with the London Marathon, so as we rally our citizen scientists to take action for their local lakes, rivers and streams once again, I'll also be running. A lot.
Water sustains all life on our planet, yet despite its importance, U.K. freshwater is in a dire state. Through continual monitoring, we can build a better picture of water quality across the nation, highlight where action needs to be taken, and monitor the impact of these interventions
Earthwatch Europe believes in the power of data for change. Please consider donating your change so that we can continue the fight for healthy freshwater.
Thank you 💙
