My Story

ITS TAPER TIME!!!

its been a long 6 months of training, well over 2000km of training has gone in, 2 pairs of trainers I've gone through!! Now we are onto the finishing straight with just the victory lap on the 27th to come!!!
Huge thanks to everyone that has donated so far, I've been blown away by your generosity and support. Special thanks to my training buddy's who have encountered miles and miles with me, you know who you are. ❤️

Just over 8 weeks to go, we are at the business end of the hard work now!! Since I started my dedicate training block in September 2024, I have covered over 1000 miles in around 5 months!

Training has been going well, managed to PB recently at half marathon and that has really made my goal of breaking 3 hours seem possible now.

My primary driver for London is my grandad (Brian Arnold). He ran London marathons in 1982, 83 and 84, In days without Garmins, training plans, gels and carbon trainers. I have his 3 medals proudly on display in my office at home. Sadly he passed away in December 2024, my goal was to show him my medal in April and add it to the family collection. I will have to settle for knowing he is hopefully watching from somewhere telling me to put some effort in!

A few years ago now, my grandparents dementia got too much for them to live alone anymore, so they were broken up and put into different care homes in Oxford. It's been an incredibly difficult time and 99% has fallen on my Mum to sort. It's an absolute administrative minefield, so having resources like Age UK to get advice has been invaluable. So I'm doing my tiny bit in saying thank you, yes it's my hobby, but if I can do that and raise a few quid for a very worthy cause, then happy days.

Thank you for anything you can spare, It will go toward helping someone in need.
