My Story
I’ve been lucky to have many positive, trusted adults in my life: family and friends, teachers, sports coaches, and local community leaders. These are the people who gave me guidance, encouragement, and the occasional nudge to find my way in the world.
Every young person should have access to this kind of support, and youth workers are the best people to offer it!
This isn’t just my opinion - the research backs it up. Young people who access youth services are more likely to be happier, healthier, and wealthier later in life (SQW, 2023). Yet the youth sector has faced massive cuts year after year.
For the past two years, I’ve been proud to work in UK Youth's research and evaluation team where I’ve seen firsthand the amazing impact youth work can have on the lives of young people. UK Youth is doing vital work to unite government, businesses, and civil society to ensure all young people have access to the services they deserve. Beyond this advocacy role, UK Youth has distributed £20m+ over the last 4 years to the youth organisations up and down the UK.
This year, I’m running the London Marathon to raise funds so UK Youth can continue this important work. Every pound raised will help provide opportunities for young people to thrive and build a society that works for everyone.
Please consider supporting UK Youth with a donation - anything makes a huge difference. Thank you!
