My Story

About me and Cosmic:

Cosmic supports the children’s and neonatal intensive care units at St Mary’s & Queen Charlotte’s Hospital by helping patients and their families, and by enabling our dedicated team of nurses and doctors to treat hundreds of babies and children in intensive care.

Ezra, our beautiful son, was born 7 weeks premature at 33 weeks and spent 2 weeks in the St Mary's NICU. My niece Leni also spent 2 weeks in St Mary's NICU after being born at 34 weeks. I have seen first hand just how incredible the nurses and doctors are in the NICU and both Leni and Ezra benefitted hugely from their services. I have always wanted to raise money for Cosmic after having my babies as well as a huge desire to run the marathon, so when this opportunity arose I was so excited.

Cosmic go above and beyond what the NHS can afford, purchasing vital state of the art equipment, providing training for health professionals, funding a programme of groundbreaking research into life-threatening diseases and supporting families through one of the most difficult times in their life with one to one support, advice, counselling, accommodation for parents.

Thank you so much for your generous support and wish me luck!

A huge thank you to Beaverbrooks for their generousmatch funding donation of £5000.

About the London Marathon:

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
