My Story
The most ridiculous thing I have ever done.
For as long as I remember I have had itchy, dry, flakey skin, but I do not remember it ever having stopped me from doing anything. There have certainly been times when it has been a hindrance, from infection to scars, my skin has never been straightforward, but in the same breath, it has taught me to be resilient. Apparently, resilient enough to attempt 26.2 miles.
I am going to be running the London Marathon and hopefully raise lots of money for The National Eczema Society. This is something that is particularly close to me, as an adult I have often referred to their research and publishings for ideas and advice in times when my skin has been particularly tricky, and I know my parents did the same when I was young. The NEA offer expert information and advice and provides a collective voice for people with eczema to raise awareness, support research into new treatments, and campaign for better medical care. I relish the opportunity to represent such an amazing cause.
I have had eczema all my life, though I try to deter myself from saying I suffer from it.
