My Story

About me!

I’ve always wanted to challenge myself to run a marathon and when I found out that Cosmic had some spaces available I jumped at the chance.

Cosmic is a charity very close to my heart as they saved my life. When I was three years old I was rushed to intensive care, I had an ordinary case of chickenpox which developed complications leading to a serious case of pneumonia which blocked all of one lung and half of the other which gave me hours to live. This then led into an infection of the pleura which had to be removed, along with having Osteomyelitis and Sepsis. I was in a medically induced coma for a month - amazingly I made a full recovery and Cosmic cared for me and my family throughout it all.

Now at 28 years old I am fit and healthy and exercise is part of my daily routine. I have always enjoyed running but have never challenged myself to a marathon, so this is an exciting (and quite terrifying) experience! Running it for Cosmic is such an amazing way to be able to give back and such great proof of how brilliant their care had been in enabling me to be fit and fighting! Hopefully I can run it in a good time (with lots of training pending!!) all whilst being able to raise money for an amazing charity.

Wish me luck and follow me on Strava to track me hopefully getting better at running!
