My Story

Support Will Langstaff in the London Marathon for The Christie

Hello everyone,

My name is Will Langstaff, and I am thrilled to share that I will be running the London Marathon on behalf of The Christie. This cause is incredibly close to my heart, and I would like to share my story with you.

In March 2024, my wife Sarah was diagnosed with bowel cancer. It was a devastating time for our family, but we found hope and support through The Christie. Sarah underwent a major operation in April, and since then, she has been under the exceptional care of The Christie, including participating in a clinical trial for a bowel cancer vaccine.

The journey has been challenging, especially with Sarah’s chemotherapy treatments, which have been tough on her. Despite these hardships, The Christie has been a beacon of hope, providing world-class care and innovative treatments.

Running has been my way of coping and staying strong for my family. I completed the Tatton Park 10k in September, raising £250 for The Christie, and I am now training for a half marathon at Heaton Park in December. These events have not only helped me stay focused but also allowed me to contribute to a cause that means so much to us.

Our family’s connection to cancer doesn’t end there. My mother and mother-in-law recently recovered from breast cancer after undergoing chemotherapy and a mastectomy. They were given the all-clear in 2023 and September this year, which has further fueled my determination to support cancer research and treatment.

By running the London Marathon, I aim to raise awareness and funds for The Christie, ensuring that other families can benefit from the same level of care and support that we have received. Your donations will go directly towards helping The Christie continue their vital work in cancer treatment and research.

Please join me in supporting this incredible cause. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Together, we can help The Christie provide hope and care to those who need it most.

Thank you for your support!

Best regards,
Will Langstaff
